(Mariko awakes to see Serena and Darian sitting beside her. Looking around she could tell that she was in an ambulance. Lifting up she felt the pressure of a nurse behind her pressing her good shoulder back on the sling. )
Nurse: You have to stay still.
Mariko: I'm fine really.
Serena: No you're not. You lost a lot of blood.
(Hearing this Mariko could have sworn sailor Moon was sitting beside her, but she waved it away. Anyone could sound the same.)
Mariko: (Pointing towards Serena) I've met you before.
Serena: (Not quite sure what to say) Yes, you're the one who caught me when I almost fell out of the bus.
Mariko: Yes, but I never got your name.
Serena: Oh I'm sorry. My name is Serena and (nodding towards Darian) this is Darian.

Serena put her hand in her pocket and pulled out a necklace.)
Serena: When they loaded you up on the stretcher they took off your necklace.
(She stretched to put it back on Mariko, but Mariko put her good hand up)
Mariko: I dont need it. Not like I'm going to find the person who gave it to me.
(At that Mariko laid back down on the stretcher and looked to the other side of the ambulance)
Driver: We are at the hospital. No visitors are to follow into the emergency room.
(Serena and Darian were in the waiting room when they saw the same nurse that was in the ambulance. Darien went up toward him)
Darian: Have you heard anything about Mariko?
Nurse: She has just got out of a clean surgery. She is about to be put into a room. Would you like to see her?
Serena: Yes.
(The nurse handed the records to another nurse behind the station)
Nurse: You will have to wait at least ten minutes so they can get here into a room and everything set.
Serena: I'm going to call my parents and let them where I am.
(Darian watched as Serena left to look for a payphone. He sat back down to picked up a magazine, thumbing through the pages)
Man: Do you know which room Mariko Kunikida is in?
(Darian looked up from an article to see a mess of blonde hair up top a head of a man not much younger than him)
Darian: Did I hear you right? Are you looking for Mariko?
Man: Have you seen her?
Darian: Not since surgery...
Man: Surgery?!
Darian: Oh she just needed stitches. They are putting her in a room as we speak.
Serena: I'm ready. Who is this you have met?
(The man stretched out his hand to have Serena take it)
Taka: The name is Taka.
Darian: Taka her knows Mariko.
Serena: Really from where?
Taka: From a long time ago.
Serena: Do you know which room they put her in?
Taka: If I'm not mistaken she is in room 202.
Darian: We have to go. Maybe we will see you around?
Taka: Maybe.
(Darian touched Serena on the shoulder and motioned towards the door. Serena wasn't all to sure what was happening)
Serena: But I wanted to check on Mariko.
Darian: We can tomorrow.
(Serena stopped and pulled out Mariko's necklace from her pocket)
Serena: She would not let me put it back on her, but (handing it to Taka) maybe she will let you.
(Taka slowly took the necklace out of her hand. He looked at it with a distance glance. Taka quickly closed his eyes and shook his head as he went through the hallway towards Mariko's room.
Serena and Darian headed out the exit doors)
Serena: Why could we not see her?
Darian: You didn't see the look on the guys face when I asked him about Mariko, he had sadness in his eyes.
Serena: Oh! (She quickly remembered when she had handed him the necklace and seeing the hurt)
Serena: Do you think that was her fiance?
Darian: Might have been.
